Respect to fundamental elements, environment preservation and creation of essential conditions for the survival of living beings has been prevailing at Kiaroa.

  • Solar energy in part of the hotel, mainly for water heating.
  • Water treatment at our own station.
  • Sanitary sewerage through anaerobic pits (regulated by ABNT).
  • Hotel bed linen washing in Salvador, preserving the region's supplies (water and power).
  • Underground electrical cabling, avoiding interferences with fauna and flora.
  • Complex design in accordance with governmental and environmental protection standards, since the hotel is located in an Environmental Protection Area.
  • Local manpower utilization with training at Kiaroa.
  • Artifacts, furniture, part of room decoration and common areas produced by native handicraft.
  • Timber used in hotel construction originating from reforestation areas (certified).
  • Working team training for Ecological Awareness Programs.
